Quote Pinning and Sharing

Tripgrid has developed a process for selecting, 'pinning', and sharing a flight, or multiple flights, with a Traveler for their selection, prior to confirming and booking.

Once you have created a Project and added Travelers to that Project, you can begin searching for flights. Each Traveler's origin will be the Airport near their home, with their preferred origin airport added to their profile. The user will select between one-way and round-trip, enter the destination location and departure date, and click 'Search Flight'.

A list of flight options will be generated for the above parameters. Hovering just to the right of the price will show you a 'pin' icon. Clicking the pin icon selects a flight option.

You can click as many flight options as you wish, or pin all the flights in the search by clicking on the Pin All Flights in Search button (keep in mind there may be 100+ flight options on the list).

You can also undo each pin or use the pin-all button to deselect your pinned options.

Once you have selected your flights, click the back arrow at the top left of your screen.

You will then see a button on the Traveler's Flight Card labeled "Share", within which should be the number of flights you have selected to share with the Traveler.

Clicking the 'Share' button opens the Share modal. Here, you can see the flight details, and you can choose whether to show the price when you share by clicking the 'Share Price' button at the top.

Once you are satisfied that you have the right flight options to share, you can copy the share link at the bottom or click "Send Email" and enter the email to confirm sending the options to the traveler.

You can add multiple flights for each Traveler if you wish. Clicking "Add Flight" at the top right of the Flight Card will add an empty-state Flight Card. You can set new parameters and perform a search. See Adding Flights for more details.

Similar to the process above, once you have pinned the desired flight options, click the back arrow to see all your flight selections, and use the Share Flight button for both flights.

The flight options will be separated as Flight 1, Flight 2, etc. Here, you can choose to send only one of the Flight options, both, or clear all flight options and begin again.

Once sent, your Traveler will receive an email that flight options have been shared.

The Traveler then selects which options they wish to submit and clicks 'Submit Preference' at the top right of the screen. They can even leave a note for the Travel Arranger at the bottom.

Back on the Project Page, a status will appear below the Traveler's name indicating that they have responded with options. Clicking the "Share" button will display which flights the Traveler has chosen.

Selecting the flight loads it onto the Flight Card on your Project Page for that Traveler. You can then select that booking to move to the Confirmation stage or continue searching flights for your other Travelers.

Note: Flight options may not remain valid if this selection process is lengthy; these are not held or reserved during this process.
