Add Travel through Email Parsing

Updated over 8 months ago

By forwarding reservation emails and attachments to a workspace or grid address, users can quickly add travel to your Tripgrid workspace dashboard or a specific grid view.

Tripgrid leverages Traxo to parse these reservations and automatically converts them into Tripgrid travel data.

Email Parsing Requirements

β€’ If you are forwarding emails with an attachment, only one attachment is allowed per email. Forwards with multiple attachments will fail to parse.

β€’ Images or screenshots of reservation data will fail to parse.

β€’ Forwarded emails must contain all the necessary information to generate travel data successfully. Forwarded inputs missing dates, travelers, and other required information will fail to parse.

Forwarding into the Dashboard

To parse trips directly into the dashboard, click the "All Travel" button on the left sidebar.

On the workspace page, click the copy forward address button at the top right to add the address to the clipboard.

You will see a notification that the email was successfully copied. To add your reservations to the dashboard, forward them to this address.

Why would you add them to your Dashboard?

Tripgrid does not allow for the parsing of a reservation to more than one Grid, so if you add them to your dashboard, you can open up the reservation and attach it to multiple Grids by adding Grid tags at the bottom left. You can add it to as many Grids as you like.

Forwarding into a Grid

To parse trips directly into a grid, open a grid view and look for the orange box on the right sidebar containing the grid address. Click the box to copy the address to the clipboard.

You will see a notification that the email was successfully copied. Forwarding your reservations to this address will add them to the grid by associating it with the grid's tag.

Checking the Status of a Parsed Email

After forwarding a reservation email to the dashboard or grid address, you will see a "Parsed Confirmation Emails" card appear at the top of the workspace page.

This will show all emails forwarded in the past 24 hours and the parsing status. If the email parsing fails or takes too long, you can cancel the request by clicking "Cancel Parsing" and adding the reservation manually.

In the grid view page, these status indicators appear in the right sidebar inside the Email Parsing tile.

To see the statuses of emails forwarded outside the 24-hour window within the grid view page, click the expanded view button on the top right to open this view.
