Travel Data Types

Tripgrid stores multiple types of travel data. Travel data objects are defined by the fields set for their travel data type in addition to tag groups which can be applied across all travel data types.

Segmented Travel Types

A segment/leg describes a single direction flight or rail trip. A flight or rail travel object can contain one or more segments/legs

Flights

Flight trip objects can be one or more flight segments grouped together by a common identifier such as a confirmation number

Rail

Rail trip objects can be one or more rail segments grouped together by a common identifier such as a confirmation number

Other Travel Types

The remaining travel data types are not broken up by segments/legs

Accommodations

Accommodations most often stores hotel reservations or other types of multi-day lodging for travelers.

Car Rental / Transfers

Car Rental / Transfers most often stores automobile reservations from a car rental service or ground transportation provided by a vendor (Lyft, Uber, etc.)

Events

Events most often stores information for conferences, meetings, etc.

Traveler profiles contain information about the individuals that are tied to the other travel types
